Terms & Conditions
Entries should meet the following criteria:

2 photos max per entrant

Submit as an attachment via email to photographs@riversideschool.cz

In your email, tell us your or your child’s name, category, and age (if a student).

Student categories are for Riverside students only. If you are a student elsewhere, please enter the ‘Friends of Riverside’ category.

Ideally, try to send us a minimum file size of 1Mb and a maximum file size of 9Mb

JPEG files only

The deadline is final! Midnight on the evening of 9th of May.

Keep content appropriate. Nothing offensive, illegal, overtly sexual, violent – you get the idea.

If you are photographing people, we advise you to have their permission.

Photographs may be used on Riverside’s website and social media pages, as well as in digital and/or print display throughout the schools.

Judges’ decisions are final.

Any personal information given to us through your submission of the photograph will only be used for processing entries and prize notifications
FAQ
Can I submit a photograph I took a long time ago?
We get asked this a lot, but we like the idea of everyone taking new photographs over the time of the competition. Please only submit photos taken between April 9 and May 9, 2018.
Will my photo be displayed?
Yes! All entries will be uploaded to this website. Our Arts Centre is well equipped with digital technology projection equipment, and all our schools have screens in the entrances. All award winning photographs will be printed, framed and formally displayed at our exhibition in Prague Crossroads, and afterwards at the schools.
Why won’t my photo send?
Check the size first – often you cannot send photos that are over 10Mb. Try to make sure your photograph meets the following requirements:

Minimum file size of 1Mb and a maximum file size of 9Mb

We will accept photos out with the recommended sizes, but very tiny images are unlikely to catch the eye of the judges.
How many photos may I submit?
Each entrant is allowed to submit 2 photos maximum.

When will I know if I’ve been successful?
We hope to have results by the 3rd week of May. Save the date for our Exhibition & Awards evening on Saturday, May 26th at Prague Crossroads.
What are the prizes?

Winning photographs displayed in the prestigious and stunning venue Prague Crossroads. Displayed in Riverside School afterwards.

Will my photographs be seen online?
Some images to promote the competition may be published on the school’s website and social media such as Friends of Riverside Facebook account, as well as the Art Blog and on digital screens throughout the schools.
Do photos have to be taken with a digital camera?
You can use any media device from a smartphone, iPad, digital camera, or SLR – it’s up to you. For this year’s competition, we want as many people to participate as possible. Feel free to experiment with pinhole cameras, film cameras, dark rooms, etc! Submitted photos do not have to be digital photos from a digital camera, as long as the end result is a JPG file.
Is image manipulation allowed in the photo contest?
Yes
When I submit a photo to the photo contest, what rights does Riverside have to my image?
Riverside will have the right to use your submitted image/s in any of our media platforms now or afterwards.
