How to take a great photo
In all categories, our judges will be looking at the following:
Overall visual impact of the photo
Visual impact can be created by colours, textures, lines, expression, atmosphere, lighting, and, of course, the content of your photograph. What will make your photo stand out? How will people react when they first see your image?
Creativity in your response to the theme
Try to be imaginative as a photographer. Think about the theme #moveit from an unusual aspect, in a way which others might not have thought about. See our inspiration section below for some ideas to get you started.
Composition/layout
How you have framed the photo
Layout is very important in photographs. Does your photograph work well together as a whole? Did you shoot from an unusual angle? How will the viewer’s eye move around your picture?
